FILM: STEWIE GRIFFIN: THE UNTOLD STORY
@ Cinespace
Cinespace will screen raunchy animated comedy Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story. The film, from "Family Guy" creator Seth McFarlane, follows maniacal baby genius Stewie (voiced by McFarlane) on his quest for world domination. His journey is stopped short, though, when he sees a man on television who looks just like him. Upon deciding that this man must be his real dad, Stewie sets off on a new quest to find the man he believes to be his true father. Just like "Family Guy," Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story is chock-full of raunchy humor, gross one-liners and semi-absurd situations.
Cinespace is located at 6356 Hollywood Blvd. (on the second level) in Hollywood. For a full menu, event calendar, directions and reservation information, call (323) 817-FILM (3456) or visit www.cine-space.com.

FILM: I LOVE YOUR WORK
@ Regent Showcase

Sometimes somber, somtimes sly and self-parodying, and always surreal, "I Love Your Work" chronicles the disintegration of Gray Evans (Giovanni Ribisi), a movie star losing his grip on reality, unable to adjust to his own celebrity, and consumed by a twisted nostalgia for love and simplicity lost. With his recent and highly publicized marriage to the beautiful starlet Mia (Franka Potente) already strained by the glare of the media and their own dueling egos, Gray begins an impossible, self-indulgent struggle to reclaim a sense of authenticity that ultimately drives him mad. Watch the film, then stay for a Q&A with director Adam Goldberg and the rest of the cast.
The Regent Showcase is located at 614 N. LaBrea Ave., Hollywood. For more info, call (323) 934-2944.

CLUB: BANG
@ The Ruby
The long-running dance night has evolved from a struggling Britpop bash to a slammin' indie-rock dancefest brimming with Strokes look-alikes and the waifs who love them.
When the gals behind the '60's gathering known as Café Bleu joined forces with dudes from the similarly retro Shout! for this Saturday night gathering, the playlist was a mesh of old soul, British rock and a sprinkling of new stuff. Then they modernized the music, and the media-hyped "rock is back" buzz hit full-fervor. Now you're lucky if you can get in before this 18-and-up club hits capacity. Skinny ties, Converse All-Stars and ironic old concert tees—not to mention lots of messy hair—is the uniform here, while the age average falls between a nubile 19 to 24. Despite the club's suggestive name, not to mention all the raging-hormoned hipsters, there's actually way more dancing than hooking up.
Club Bang is located at 7070 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood. For more info, visit www.clubbang.net.

FASHION: MELROSE TRADING POST
@Fairfax High School

Fairfax High School has schooled two of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the controversial music genius Phil Spector. But lately the institution is more famous for the rocking flea market held every Sunday in its expansive parking lot. Around 160 vendors sell their goods, from vintage clothing to furniture, watches, jewelry and toy and game collectibles. The central West Hollywood location draws a chic crowd walking off their brunch (for which options abound nearby). And its edited-down size means a trip there won't wear you out for the rest of the day.
Fairfax High School is located at 7850 Melrose Ave.,Los Angeles. For more info, visit www.greenwayarts.org

EXHIBIT: PEACOCK
@ La Luz De Jesus Gallery

With a name like Daniel Peacock, you just know the man is destined to become an ornithologist or an artist. And, actually, Peacock has become a bit of both. Bang and a Boom at La Luz De Jesus Gallery, the preeminent outsider art gallery space, presents a collection of the artist’s carnivalesque work, which graced the CD, concert poster and movie trailer for KCRW’s Sounds Eclectic 3. It makes sense, as the artist has an eclectic artistic background, amalgamating Fellini, Dr. Seuss and those almost archetypal 1930’s animations.
La Luz de Jesus Gallery is located at 4633 Hollywood Blvd., in Los Angeles. For more information, call (323) 666-7667 or visit www.laluzdejesus.com.

MUSIC: ROLLING STONES
@ Hollywood Bowl
The greatest band in rock 'n roll? Or just the oldest?
It's easy to make fun of The Rolling Stones for being, well, elderly. The fact of the matter is that the Stones' new album, A Bigger Bang, has been getting solid reviews, which means that some fans may actually stick around for new songs, like the mildly controversial "Sweet Neo Con" (which Mick insists is not about George Bush), instead of running to the bathroom between "Satisfaction" and "Sympathy For the Devil" to change their Depends. A lucky few fans will get to do what very, very few non-groupies have done: the Stones' new stage-set allows fanclub members to become what they call "a part of the set," with fans onstage with the Stones. We'll give extra points to the fan who's able to wipe that smirk off Keith Richards' face.
The Hollywood Bowl is located at
2301 N. Highland Ave., Hollywood. For more info, visit www.rollingstones.com

FILM: AFI
@ Arclight Cinemas
137 films, 16 world premieres and one tribute to Johnny Depp. With a mix of must-sees and didn't-know-you-needed-to-sees, the 19th annual AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival returns.
Some of the most hotly anticipated films: the world premiere of Johnny Depp's The Libertine (pictured); the closing gala presentation of Casanova, a sophisticated comedy starring Heath Ledger, Jeremy Irons and Sienna Miller; and historical drama The Lost City, set in pre-revolutionary Cuba, written and directed by the film's star, Andy Garcia.
The AFI filmfest is located at 6360 W. Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles. For more info, visit arclightcinemas.com
